Connecting to the server is done in two phases.

(1) a TCP/IP session is established with the FIBS server.

(2) a log on process verifies your user name and password.

Data from the server is displayed in the Terminal window. If nothing appears in your Terminal window, then the problem most likely is at step (1). If some text appears, but you don't get fully connected, the problem is most likely at step (2).
